📣 Meet Coach Gilbert! 🏈
We’re excited to introduce Coach Kimes Gilbert as the new head football coach for our community! Not only does Coach Gilbert bring extensive experience and a love for the game, but he also brings a dedication to shaping young athletes on and off the field.
Coach Gilbert grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Southmoore High School, where his love for football and athletics began. As a former powerlifting state champion, he knows the value of hard work, discipline, and strength—qualities he now shares with his students through teaching weightlifting. He continued his athletic career in football, playing at SWOSU before transferring to OBU when they reinstated their football program.
With coaching experience at Midwest City, Choctaw, and Chisholm, Coach Gilbert has gained valuable knowledge and developed a coaching style rooted in hard work, teamwork, and character building.
Off the field, Coach Gilbert is a dedicated husband and proud dad. He’s been married to his wife, Maggi, for nine years, and they have three children—Autry (4), Oakley (2), and Rader (newborn). When he’s not coaching or spending time with family, Coach Gilbert combines his love for math and leadership with his undergraduate degree in Math Education and a master’s in Educational Leadership from UCO. He’s certified in advanced mathematics and as a principal, bringing a well-rounded perspective to everything he does.
Coach Gilbert is passionate about helping students succeed—not just in football, but in life. His experience as a powerlifting champion and current weightlifting instructor adds another layer to his ability to build strong, resilient athletes. His focus on building relationships with players, families, and the community is what sets him apart, and we’re lucky to have him leading our team.
Take a moment to say hello and get to know Coach Gilbert—he’s ready to hit the ground running! Let’s give him, Maggi, and their sweet family a warm welcome as they join our community! 🏆
