Wagoner NEWS

July 16th, 2020

To Wagoner Patrons:

I want to begin by thanking you for your patience, grace, and understanding over the last several months as we have all been navigating our way through this pandemic created by COVID-19.  We have been working diligently on our “Re-Entry Plan” for Wagoner Public Schools.  We have reviewed many documents over the last month from the State Department of Education, county health departments, as well as several other school districts.  We have surveyed our staff and community to receive input from multiple sources.  As we release our “Re-Entry Plan”, we want you to know that this will be a living and breathing document.  It will change as new information becomes available to us.  We routinely meet with the State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister to receive the most current information for our state.  For example, we are currently awaiting information on the use of masks in schools as a requirement.  As we receive this information we will update the plan as needed.  It is very important during this time that we continue to support our schools, families, staff, and community.  We are aware that there is a wide range of emotions involved during this time, but we want everybody to know that the safety and well-being of our students and staff is at the forefront of our minds.  We want to continue to provide a well rounded education to our students no matter the route each family decides.  As you read through and have questions or concerns please contact your building administrators for information.  They will be a great resource for you to help reach the decision that is best for you and your student.  Thank you again for your patience, grace, and understanding, we will come out of this stronger and better than ever before.

Sincerely,

Randy Harris

Superintendent
