Mission Statement

wagoner school, house, train and people

The Mission of Wagoner Public Schools is to empower all students to be life-long learners who contribute economically, culturally, and socially to the changing communities in which they live and work.

Established in 1897, the Wagoner Public School System is the oldest public school district in the state. Over the years the student population has grown to a current enrolment of 2,499. With the creation of an Alternative School in 1995 and the re-opening of Lincoln School for the 2000-2001 school year as a Preschool, the district now has total of 7 schools.

Wagoner Public Schools offers a broad-based curriculum aligned with Oklahoma P.A.S.S. standards. All sites are accredited through the rigorous, voluntary evaluation of the North Central Accreditation process. Classroom instruction places emphasis on meeting individual student needs. At Wagoner High School twelve Advanced Placement courses are offered. The Gifted Education Coordinator monitors activities for gifted students at all sites to provide enrichment opportunities within the classroom as well as providing other enrichment involvements. Other student special needs are coordinated by the Director of Special Services. Wagoner Public Schools offers an Exemplary Early Childhood Education program, which includes a full-day Pre-School program and Kindergarten staffed with Early Childhood Education Specialists, who provide developmentally appropriate school readiness activities. The philosophy of all Wagoner Public Schools faculty and staff is that all students can learn and will be offered the opportunity to succeed.
